A Judo Training Center has started operating in Shabran.
According to the information provided to Idman.Biz from the Azerbaijan Judo Federation (ACF), the opening of the center was attended by the Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov, the head of the Shabran District Executive Authority Asif Huseynov, the executive vice-president of the ACF Rashad Rasulov and other officials.
It was reported that the physical training zone of the center, which is equipped with tatami mats that meet modern standards, is equipped with the necessary sports equipment to support the physical development of judokas. The total size of the tatami covers an area of 200 sq.m. In addition, there are also coaching and changing rooms. More than 200 athletes will practice judo in the hall.
It should be noted that the Azerbaijan Judo Federation opened judo halls in Ganja, Sumgayit, Gusar, Agstafa, Zagatala, Goranboy, Sabirabad, Agali village of Zangilan region, Zira settlement of Baku, Agdash, Kurdamir, Astara, Jalilabad, Tartar, Gakh, Imishli and Mosul village of Zagatala in 2022-2025. The next judo halls are planned to be put into operation in Masalli, Jalilabad, Gobustan and Siyazan. Since 2022, the Azerbaijan Judo Federation has provided 11,704 tatami mats to 158 sports halls in Baku and regions, and 2,430 young athletes have been given the opportunity to train for free.
