In the second match, he defeated Canadian judoka Justin Lemire. In the semi-final, Heydarov was stronger than Venezuelan Andres Priçe.
His opponent in the final will be Czech Husniddin Karimova.
Rashid Mammadaliyev, another judoka competing in the same weight category, defeated Ulises Mendes of Mexico in his first match.
