Former head coach of the Azerbaijan national futsal team, Vitali Borisov, has commented on his departure from his post.
Idman.biz reports that the specialist gave an explanation to "Report" about this.
He said that he left the national team because they could not achieve the goal: "When I signed the contract, they set a goal to get out of the group in the qualifying round of the European Championship. But we couldn't reach the target. For this reason, the contract was not renewed."
He said that they are preparing for the European Championship to be held among student futsal players: "We are preparing for the European Championship to be held in Croatia among student futsal players. There are no offers from other clubs yet. At this time, the teams are on vacation. Presumably, the championship will start in October. There is still some time."
V. Borisov also shared his thoughts on the appointment of the national team's new head coach, Yevgeni Kuksevich: "Although I don't know him closely, we have met from time to time. I wish the new head coach success. I hope that he will raise the national team to higher levels. Time will tell what will happen. He has been working in Araz-Nakhchivan for only three months. It is true that I have not seen any serious changes in the team, but they became champions last season under the leadership of the head coach. I congratulate you on this occasion. We would be happy if he raises the national team to higher levels again."
It should be noted that Vitali Borisov resigned from the post of head coach of the Azerbaijan national team some time ago. He was replaced by Russian specialist Yevgeni Kuksevich, who also heads the Araz-Nakhchivan club.
