"Neftchi" IK will do their best to become the Azerbaijani futsal champion after 19 years and make history."
This was stated by Fuad Rzayev, the head coach of "Neftchi" IK.
The specialist said that they are seriously preparing for the championship match against "Araz-Nakhchivan" which will be held today:
"Thank God, we don't have any injured or penalized players. We will enter the game with a full squad of 14 people. Many may assess the chances differently, but we are playing against a 19-time Azerbaijani champion. The futsal players in the opponent's squad have UEFA Champions League experience, they participate in the group stage of the tournament every year. Our team was formed this year, and our legionnaires have not seen any place other than Brazil. In terms of experience, the opponent's players are more comfortable and free in such matches," he said in his statement to report.az.
He also touched upon the psychological state of the team and the difficulties they will face:
"Our team is well prepared for the game. The main thing is to be psychologically calm and composed. I think that our players are not fully ready for this yet, but they will do their best to experience the joy of championship and make history after 19 years. The main thing that worries us is that we have neither trained nor played games before on the field where the match will be held. "Araz-Nakhchivan" once played against "Benfica" there, and their national team members trained there. For this reason, it will be difficult for us. Playing against such an opponent, a team with stronger and more expensive transfers, is both proud and difficult. I hope we will eventually experience the joy of championship."
