26-year-old British driver Lando Norris and 24-year-old Australian driver Oscar Piastri, both McLaren team drivers, have been disqualified from the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix.
İdman.Biz reports that after inspections by the International Automobile Federation (FIA) and stewards, it was determined that the skid plank on both cars was worn excessively due to friction.
According to the official protocol, the skid blocks located on the underside of the cars were inspected after the race and confirmed to be less than the minimum 9 mm thickness required by the regulations.
After this decision, the situation in the personal standings is as follows:
1. Lando Norris ("McLaren") — 390 points
2. Oscar Piastri ("McLaren") — 366 points
3. Max Verstappen ("Red Bull") — 366 points
As a result of the disqualification, the course of the season has become even more difficult for "McLaren".

It is alleged that Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, the drivers of the British "McLaren" team in Formula 1, may lose their second and fourth places in the Las Vegas Grand Prix.
İdman.Biz reports that the FIA has launched an investigation into both cars.
Initially, attention was focused on Norris's car. It is alleged that his car may not have had the minimum 1 liter of fuel required for mandatory technical inspection after the finish. If the rules are violated, the results may be canceled.
It later became known that the inspection covers both "McLaren" cars. Inspectors are investigating the possibility of excessive wear on the undercarriage panel, a violation that could also result in the drivers' disqualification.
As the investigation continues, the planned press conference of team boss Andrea Stella has been postponed indefinitely.
Another factor adding to the tension was Norris's sharp drop in pace in the final laps of the race. The British driver said after the race from the pits that he did not know the exact reason for such a team order.
FIA Formula Series Director Nicolas Tombasis is currently in the McLaren garage and is discussing the situation with team management.
