The stages of the Formula 1 World Championship, which are planned to be held in the Persian Gulf countries, may be canceled due to the increasing conflict in the Middle East.
"Report" reports that this was reported by The Daily Telegraph newspaper.
The new season of the race will start this weekend in Melbourne, Australia. In April, Formula 1 is planned to be held in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. The territories of both countries have been subjected to missile strikes by Iran due to the presence of US military bases.
According to the publication, a decision on whether or not to hold races in the Persian Gulf states may be made by the end of March. Organizers are currently monitoring the situation.
It is reported that if the stages in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia do not take place, the new season of the World Championship may consist of 22 races. As an alternative, the transfer of stages to other countries is being considered. Istanbul, Turkey, Portimao, Portugal and Imola, Italy are among the possible locations.
It should be reminded that the US and Israel launched a military operation against Iran on February 28. Iran also announced that it has launched a large-scale operation in response, targeting facilities in Israel, Bahrain, Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait, the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
