Marshals of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix "Formula 1" have already started operating.
According to Idman.biz, the fastest drivers in the world will hit the streets of Baku tomorrow, and the main team that ensures their safety – the marshals – are already ready.
This year, approximately 1,500 marshals will monitor the safety of the race. They have departed from the Athletes' Village to the track area since morning and are preparing for all situations they may encounter during the race by taking their positions.
Marshals are divided into various functional groups: fire marshals, flag marshals, track marshals and other support teams. Each group has its own task, but the main goal of all marshals is to create a safe and trouble-free racing environment for drivers and fans.
Today, they toured the track, got acquainted with their posts, received instructions and conducted training exercises on various scenarios. The role of each marshal has been predetermined and all activities are aimed at maintaining maximum safety.
It should be noted that "Formula 1" marshals operate on a voluntary basis not only in Azerbaijan but also all over the world. They join with great love and interest in the race, and for many, this is more an indication of dedication and commitment to motorsport than a professional career.
Without the accuracy, discipline and courage of the marshals, "Formula 1" would not be possible. Thanks to their silent work, drivers compete at high speed, and fans can watch the excitement of the track in a safe environment.
The Azerbaijan Grand Prix will be held in the central streets of Baku on September 19–21.
