Two-time Formula 1 champion and Aston Martin driver Fernando Alonso has criticized the new rules after qualifying at the Japanese Grand Prix.
Idman.Biz reports that the Spanish driver finished the race in 21st place.
"Half of our team could get behind the wheel of this car and drive it here.
High-speed corners have become gas stations. You slowly take them to charge the battery and then you go full throttle on the straight. In this case, driver skill no longer matters," Motorsport-Magazine quoted Alonso as saying.
Speaking about the Suzuka track, traditionally considered one of the most demanding tracks for racing drivers, Fernando added: "Its uniqueness has simply disappeared."
