Turkish football team "Gençlerbirliği" has officially announced that they have parted ways with their head coach Volkan Demirel. In a statement released by the club, it was stated that the contract with the specialist was terminated based on the decision of the management and mutual agreement.
İdman.Biz reports that the capital representative thanked Volkan Demirel and his technical team for their services and wished them success in their future careers.
This decision was caused by the team's consecutive unsuccessful results in the Turkish Super League and their fall to the lower ranks of the tournament table.
Volkan Demirel worked in the team in two different periods during the current season. In his first term, which lasted from October 31, 2025 to December 11, 2025, he played six matches, recording three wins and three losses.
In his second term, the specialist, who led the team in nine matches including all tournaments, won only two victories, faced one draw and six defeats.
