"Preparation is proceeding according to plan."
These words were said by Vadim Abdullayev, a football player of the "Karvan-Yevlax" club.
The 31-year-old midfielder shared his thoughts on preparing for the second half of the season in the Misli Premier League.
"We are trying to eliminate our shortcomings and minimize our mistakes. Time will tell," he said in an interview with sport24.az.
The player also commented on the team being at the bottom of the tournament table with six points after 16 rounds:
"There are many reasons for this, it is impossible to focus on anything specific. We, as a team, know and understand everything. Therefore, we all have to work together and correct this situation with God's permission."
V.Abdullayev also touched upon the involvement of new players in the team:
"I hope that these changes will be beneficial for everyone. God willing, everyone will benefit the team. Time will tell."
The midfielder also spoke about the upcoming match against "Sabah" in the 17th round, who are fighting for the championship:
"In my mentality, there has never been a concept of weak and strong. If I step onto the field, no one can be better than me there. I have had such a character in every sport I have been involved in. We know that the opponent is strong and quality. But we do not go to the field to lose. In life, a person must believe in himself, trust himself, and leave the rest to God. The main thing is to do your job bravely, to be courageous. If everyone thinks the same way, our work will become even easier with God's permission."
