Eight United Nations experts have appealed to the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) and the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) to ban Israeli clubs and national teams from participating in international competitions. Sport24.az reports that journalist Jose Luis Morales wrote about this on social networks.
According to Morales, UN experts are calling for a ban on the activities of Israeli teams "in response to the ongoing genocide in the Palestinian territory."
On September 21, the Israel Hayom newspaper wrote that UEFA may impose a ban on Israel from participating in competitions at its meeting on September 23. According to the newspaper, the vast majority of the 20 countries currently participating in the vote support Israel's expulsion. Two or three countries oppose this. The newspaper emphasizes that the Israel Football Association (IFA) is seriously trying to prevent this issue from being put on the agenda.
