Ulvi Babayev, a football player from Russia's Dinamo Moscow, who AFFA allegedly wanted to nationalize, has made his national team choice.
According to İdman.Biz, the 21-year-old forward made a statement about this to the Championat.com website.
"I respect the fact that my father is Azerbaijani, but I was born in Russia. No one has approached me about this issue, and I haven't even thought about it. I have my own goals and desires. I only see myself in the Russian national team," said Babayev.
It should be noted that Ulvi Babayev currently plays for the Russian U-21 national team.
