UEFA has published its annual report on the financial sustainability of European clubs. According to Sport24.az, the report states that although the total pre-tax profit of top league clubs in 2025 will approach 30 billion euros for the first time in history, losses have been recorded overall.
UEFA emphasizes that the main reasons for the increase are money from sponsorships, transfers, and European cups. However, along with revenue, operating expenses have also increased. Players' salaries increased by 4.8%, and non-wage operating expenses reached 36% of total revenue, the highest level in the last 15 years.
Despite the overall increase in revenue, the overall losses of the leagues remain high. The report refers to data for several leagues: La Liga clubs lost 296 million euros, Serie A 255 million euros, France 112 million euros, and Greece 92 million euros.
The UEFA report also states that a total of 29 clubs changed owners in 2025, which is a lower figure compared to previous years.
