"In the first 15-20 minutes, the opponent was clearly superior to us. We didn't start the match well from the first minutes."
Idman.Biz reports that these words were said by Zira's goalkeeper Tiago Silva in an interview with sport24.az.
The 26-year-old goalkeeper shared his thoughts on the 21st round match of the Misli Premier League, which they lost to Turan Tovuz (0:2):
"In the second half, we gained a relative advantage. This was natural. The team that was ahead in the score played more carefully in defense. We had few goal chances, but we couldn't take advantage of them. I think that Turan Tovuz was the more aggressive and willing side in the game. The more aggressive side was able to win."
The Brazilian goalkeeper said that there was no communication problem with the defenders:
"I don't think there is a problem in defense. We have conceded similar goals before. It's not the first time. We just need to analyze these things in the current situation and eliminate the problems. We have set a goal to qualify for the European Cup. We want to achieve this."
Silva commented on conceding goals in the beginning of several games:
"In the current situation, all my teammates must understand that we have not gone to the European Cups for two consecutive seasons for nothing. Sometimes the aggression and pressing we show help us in different games. We also lacked aggression in the match against Turan Tovuz. We need to perform differently in the next matches."
Finally, the player shared his thoughts on the match against Araz-Nakhchivan in the 22nd round:
"We want to win. We have to work for it. We need to be more aggressive now. If there is a different fighting spirit, we will be able to win."
