Information circulating about the future of German national team goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen has been clarified.
İdman.Biz, citing Mundo Deportivo, reports that the loan agreement between Barcelona and Girona for the goalkeeper will not be terminated prematurely.
It was announced on February 2 that the 33-year-old goalkeeper suffered a back thigh injury, with a possible muscle tear and tendon damage. According to preliminary information, the recovery process may take up to two months.
If such a long break were to occur, Girona had the right to terminate the loan early and return the player to Barcelona. However, the Catalan club has refused this option and the contract will remain in effect until June. If necessary, Marc-André ter Stegen will be able to undergo rehabilitation at Barcelona's base.
It should be noted that the goalkeeper joined Girona on January 21 and has already participated in two matches. He was on the field in the matches against Getafe with 1:1 and Oviedo with 0:1. The player's contractual rights belong to the Barcelona club.
