The president of "Qarabag", Tahir Gozel, held a briefing after the return match of the III qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League, in which they defeated North Macedonian "Shkendija" 5:1 at home.

- "Qarabag" qualified for the Champions League play-off stage for the fourth time in its history. What are your impressions?
- The opponent team played very well against us in Skopje and gave us difficult moments. Our defense line played a very important role in our victory on the road. But today, what pleased me the most was that we saw all our new players in action. I was very pleased to see Hikmat Jabrayilzade, one of the future stars of Azerbaijani football, among them. Of course, I didn't expect that. I think that today we showed the difference of playing in our homeland, in front of our fans. Our players entered the field in a different atmosphere. I think Azerbaijan benefited from this. Thanks to such support, we gave our people the joy of victory.
- Do you agree that the opponent seemed to play with "Qarabag"'s nerves by scoring the first goal...?
- Yes, exactly. The most important thing is, did you hear the fans' support for "Qarabag" after that goal? They gave great support and encouraged our team. Thus, we achieved our desire with a great result.
- Which opponent would you like to see in the Champions League play-off stage?
- I think Hungarian "Ferencváros" is a serious opponent, it receives special support from the state and influential people, it has a very special place, its budget and opportunities are wide. But we are also distinguished by the beautiful transfers we have made and our stable performance, which is one of our greatest values. What we have gained and lost in the past years has been inherited as experience. Our head coach, staff, and players are the same. This "Qarabag" is not the "Qarabag" of the 2017/2018 season when we qualified for the Champions League group stage. We have a team with great experience in Europe. I believe that a team with such superior qualities will face the opponent. We have never been closer to the main stage in history than now. I believe that our team is aware of this and that we will achieve our dreams. I am sure that we will host "Liverpool", PSG in Baku and we will have a football celebration.
