"Sumgayit" Football Club does not believe that the decision of the AFFA Disciplinary Committee will change and will not appeal to the Arbitration Tribunal, citing bias against them.
Idman.Biz reports that Zaur Khudiyev, the press secretary of the "chemists," made a statement about this.
The club's press secretary stated that they do not intend to file an appeal:
"We have already filed several appeals regarding the decisions of the Disciplinary Committee. However, the last time we were explicitly told that they did not have time to review and discuss our complaint. The head coach of "Sumgayit" Football Club, Sasa Ilic, was given a 4-match ban for the events that took place in the match with "Shamakhi," and we received the same answer at that time. Therefore, we believe that there is no point in appealing anymore. In general, we believe that the Disciplinary Committee's attitude towards us is not fair, and we have already accepted this."
It should be noted that the AFFA Disciplinary Committee imposed a total fine of 10,000 manats on the "Sumgayit" club for the events that took place in the match against "Kapaz" in the 30th round of the Misli Premier League. Club President Riad Rafiyev was fined 5,000 manats for entering the referees' room after the game, and head coach Sasa Ilic was fined the same amount for receiving a straight red card in the match.
