"First of all, I congratulate my team on the victory. It was a very tough game for us. The opponent was playing on their home field, wanted to win points, and opened the scoring with an early goal. However, scoring the reply goal immediately made our job a little easier. In the first half, we tried to take the lead, created a lot of scoring chances. We couldn't take advantage of the opportunities we had. After the break, we found our game. The attack we worked on in training earned us a penalty. In the remaining minutes, control was completely on our side, the girls kept the opponent without the ball. We are happy to have won." These words were said by Siyasat Asgarov, the head coach of the Azerbaijani national women's football team, to the AFFA press service after the away game against the Andorra national team (3:1) as part of the World Championship qualifying round.
The head coach said that they want to repeat the same success in the next match against the Andorra national team: "We must forget the away match and focus on the match we will play with this team in Baku. Our goal in the home game is to achieve the maximum result." It should be noted that our national team will face the Andorra national team on April 18 at the "Bank Respublika Arena".
