Idman.Biz reports that these words were said by the head coach of the Ukrainian national football team, Sergey Rebrov, while commenting on the 3:5 victory over Iceland in the away match of the 2026 World Cup qualifying round.
According to the expert, if his team fails to win against Azerbaijan in the next game, the victory in Reykjavik (the capital of Iceland - ed.) will have no special value.
"We will analyze the mistakes and prepare seriously for the match against Azerbaijan. Because if we don't win the next match, the game in Reykjavik will mean nothing," S. Rebrov told reporters.
The head coach added that the upcoming game will not be easy for Ukraine: "After a tough match with Iceland, it is very important to maintain focus and correctly assess the opponent's strength."
It should be reminded that the Azerbaijani national team lost to the French national team 0:3 in Paris yesterday. The match between Ukraine and Azerbaijan will be held on October 13 in Krakow, Poland. The first game between the teams in Baku ended in a 1:1 draw.
