It has been reported that Turkish coach Sergen Yalçın refused approximately 250 million TL (9 million manats) in compensation when leaving the "Beşiktaş" football club.
İdman.Biz reports, citing the Turkish press, that the experienced specialist did not demand any compensation from the club either.
Yalçın's move was met with great enthusiasm by the "Beşiktaş" community.
In a brief statement after his departure, the Turkish coach said, "Another coach would take a salary, but we won't. We are "Beşiktaş", it wouldn't suit us."
He also revealed that he gave up $1.5 million when he left the club in 2021.
