A maximum salary cap has been set for football players and head coaches of clubs playing in the Uzbekistan Super League. Strict restrictions have come into effect in parallel with the initial financial assistance of 35 billion soms (approximately 4.6 million AZN) allocated to each club from the state budget.
Idman.Biz reports with reference to the "Upl" portal that, according to the new regulations, the maximum monthly income of a football player is frozen at 27 million soms (3575 AZN). After deducting mandatory taxes, this figure drops to approximately 23 million soms (3045 AZN).
According to reports, strict financial regulations have also been introduced for management and coaching staff. Thus, the monthly salary of the team's head coach cannot exceed 10 million soms (1324 AZN) from now on.
It should be noted that, according to the new draft decree prepared by the President of Uzbekistan, the funds allocated to Super League clubs from the state budget will be gradually reduced every year. This step aims to ensure that clubs gradually transition to a self-financing system.
