The Secretary General of the Russian Football Union (RFS), Maxim Mitrofanov, stated that the organization has once again discussed the issue of banning Tufan Sadigov's football activities.
Idman.biz reports that Mitrofanov is ready to appeal to the International Football Federation (FIFA) if there are grounds to ban Sadigov's activities.
On September 9, 2025, the Arbitration Court of the Moscow region declared the "Khimki" club bankrupt. Azerbaijani businessman Tufan Sadigov was an investor in this club.
"We have submitted the materials to the Control and Disciplinary Committee for review. Now the Control and Disciplinary Committee will review the issues related to the leadership of "Khimki" as a whole and will decide whether there are grounds for bringing them to justice, what kind of responsibility to bring them to, and who specifically. After these decisions are made, we will appeal to FIFA, taking into account all the circumstances, including whether it is possible to pay off debts, to extend the sanctions and ban football activities around the world," TASS quotes Mitrofanov.
It is reported that Sadigov has been the owner of the Turkish club "Serikspor Belediyespor" since June 2025. The club's head coach is Sergey Yuran.
