On May 16, the semi-final matches of the "Dirçəliş Kuboku" charity football tournament, organized by the initiative and organization of the Karabakh Revival Fund (KRF), were held. The ceremony organized in this regard was attended by representatives of state institutions and companies participating in the tournament, as well as the football community, KRF donors and partners, famous athletes and media representatives.
Rahman Hajiyev, Chairman of the Board of the Karabakh Revival Fund, congratulated the teams that qualified for the semi-final stage and wished them success in a very important game.
The Chairman of the Board reminded that the funds obtained from the tournament will be directed to restoration and construction projects implemented in the liberated territories, and thanked the participating teams and donors for their social responsibility.
Then Rahman Hajiyev presented special gifts on behalf of the Foundation to Farid Huseynov, the captain of the Innovation and Digital Development Agency (IRIA), and Ramin Ismayilov, the captain of the State Oil Company (SOCAR) team, who won the "Dirçəliş Kuboku" charity football tournament of the 2024/2025 season.
At the same time, the heads of the companies represented by the teams that advanced to the semi-finals of the current season - Jeyhun Abbasov, president of "Avrora Group" company, Farid Huseynov, chief executive officer of "Bir Ecosystem" company, Dovlat Dovlatov, deputy chief executive officer of "Azerconnect Group" company, and Vugar Namazov, chief executive officer of "Unicapital Investment" company, were also awarded special gifts. The semi-finalists were presented with paintings created within the framework of the master class held last year for young Azerbaijani artists under the leadership of the famous German artist Inga Schmidt and dedicated to Karabakh.
After the award ceremony, the semi-final matches started. First, the teams "Unicapital" and "Bir Ecosystem" took the field. "Bir Ecosystem" won the ticket to the final by defeating its opponent with a score of 2:0.
The game "Azerconnect Group" - "Avrora Group" was also held in a tense competition. Since the main part of the meeting ended in a 3:3 draw, the name of the winner was clarified in the penalty shootout. "Azerconnect Group", which was more accurate here, secured the second ticket to the final.
Thus, in the decisive final game of the tournament, which will be held on June 6, the teams "Bir Ecosystem" and "Azerconnect Group" will face each other. At the same time, the other two semi-finalists will compete for bronze medals.
It should be noted that the "Dirçəliş Kuboku" charity football tournament is held with the initiative and organization of the Karabakh Revival Fund (KRF), the support of the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan (AFFA), the main sponsorship of the "Tamstore" Market Chain, and the information support of the "CBC Sport" TV channel.
The main goal of the tournament, which started with the participation of 40 teams from state institutions and leading companies operating in our country, is to strengthen public support for the restoration of Karabakh, as well as to promote a culture of donation among people and promote a healthy lifestyle.
For information, let us also inform you that a total of 115,000 manats have been donated to the Karabakh Revival Fund by the main sponsor of the tournament and the participating teams, and these funds will be used to create sports infrastructure in the liberated territories.
