A striking claim has emerged regarding Spanish coach Robert Moreno, who parted ways with Russian Premier League team "Sochi."
According to Lent.az, citing foreign media, Andrey Orlov, the sports director of the "Sochi" football club, stated that head coach Roberto Moreno listened to the suggestions of the ChatGPT chat assistant, which operates with artificial intelligence, in some of his decisions.
According to his claim, before the away game in Khabarovsk (seven hours difference from Sochi), artificial intelligence recommended that the players stay awake for 28 hours and train at 7:00 in the morning.
Orlov even stated that the players did not understand the plan, saying: "They didn't even understand why they had to get up at 5 in the morning and go to training at 7 in the morning."
Reliance on artificial intelligence in transfers as well
Orlov also claimed that the transfer of Kazakhstani striker Artur Shushenachev was carried out based on artificial intelligence recommendations. However, the player failed to score in 10 league games, and managed to score only two goals in three cup games.
"ChatGPT had become one of the most important tools for Moreno. There was no empathy towards assistants and players, and this was felt by the team," Orlov said.
Moreno denies the allegations: "Completely unfounded"
Robert Moreno denied the allegations. In an interview with the Spanish newspaper "La Razon," Moreno stated that he did not use "ChatGPT" or other artificial intelligence in game preparation or squad selection, saying, "These claims are completely false."
Moreno also claimed that Shushenachev's transfer was not based on artificial intelligence, stating that it was an internal club process, the decision was made by the sports director, and he only approved it as head coach.
