Serdar Gözübüyük has been appointed as the chief referee for the "Qarabag" - "Copenhagen" match, which will be held in the second round of the UEFA Champions League group stage.
Idman.biz reports that the 38-year-old referee has held FIFA referee status since 2012 and represents the Netherlands Football Federation. He is of Turkish origin.
Gözübüyük is considered one of the most experienced referees in the Netherlands and regularly receives appointments for international matches.
In recent seasons, he has officiated Champions League matches such as "Benfica" - "Atletico", "Bologna" - "Borussia Dortmund", and the Europa League match "Real Sociedad" - "Midtjylland".
In addition, this September, he was in charge of the Slovakia - Germany match in the qualifying round for the 2026 World Cup, and last season he ensured justice in the Serbia - Spain match of the League of Nations.
It should be noted that the Slovakia-Germany match, which took place in Bratislava on September 4, ended with a surprise and the Slovaks won 2:0.
