Spain's "Real Madrid" club has taken first place in the annual "Deloitte Football Money League" report. The club's total revenue was 1.2 billion euros (approximately 2.22 billion AZN), a record figure in the history of the "Money League".
Idman.Biz reports that the most notable moment in the ranking is the decline of English Premier League representative "Manchester United" to eighth place for the first time in the tournament's history. This is the club's lowest position in the "Money League" history.
According to the "Deloitte" report, the total revenue of the top 20 clubs was 12.4 billion euros (approximately 22.9 billion AZN), which is an 11 percent increase compared to the previous season.

The top five of the ranking is formed as follows:
1. "Real Madrid" (Spain)
2. "Barcelona" (Spain)
3. "Bayern" (Germany)
4. PSG (France)
5. "Liverpool" (England)
"Barcelona" rose to second place this time, while it was fifth last season. "Liverpool", for the first time in its history, rose to fifth place in the list as the highest-earning club in England.
Two new clubs have also been included in the report. "Stuttgart", which plays in the German Bundesliga, ranked 18th with a revenue of 296.3 million euros (approximately 548 million AZN), and the Portuguese representative "Benfica" ranked 19th with a revenue of 283.4 million euros (approximately 525 million AZN).
One of the main reasons for "Manchester United"'s decline is its non-participation in the UEFA Champions League. The club's broadcasting revenue fell from 258 million euros (approximately 477 million AZN) to 206 million euros (approximately 381 million AZN). Due to being completely out of European tournaments, game day revenues are expected to decrease even further this season.
It should be noted that "Manchester United" has been the leader 10 times in the 29-season "Money League" history, and last did so in 2017.
In total, nine clubs from the "English Premier League" are included in the top 20. The fact that no English clubs are in the top four this season is considered a rare event in the Money League history.
