"I can't say anything negative about the new coach."
This was stated by "Araz-Nakhchivan" striker Ramon Maçado in an interview with futbolinfo.az.
We present this interview.
– The team started the season well and even had a chance to qualify for European cups. What happened later that the team moved away from that zone?
– More financial investment was made in the team this season, and the goal was still to qualify for European cups. But after the winter break, there was a serious decline in our team's game. I myself was not able to achieve both personal and team goals. I suffered a serious injury during pre-season training in Turkey, and after that it was very difficult for me to return to my previous form.
– Did the change of head coach affect the team?
– I can't say anything negative about the new coach. He has his own working method and football ideas. But so far, we have not been able to achieve the results we wanted.
– You played in European cups last season. Are you disappointed that you can't get there this season?
– This is a big disappointment. The goal was still to be in the top "3". The team was built precisely to qualify for European cups again. Not being able to achieve this goal disappoints us very much, both as a team and personally.
– Will your goals be higher for next season?
– We don't know what next season will be like yet. My contract is expiring and the club has not spoken to me about extending the contract.
– Do you want to stay here or do you have better offers?
– I spent two seasons at "Araz-Nakhchivan" and I love the players, management, and president very much here. But I don't know if I will stay at the club, because there has been no contact yet. There is some interest from Azerbaijan, but there is no official offer. Most of the offers I have received have been from Asian clubs. Currently, all my attention is on the last two games. I will make a decision about my future after the season ends.
