"Qarabağ" faces "Liverpool": A crucial match in the Champions League

Tonight, "Qarabağ" will play its last - 8th round match of the League stage of the Champions League. Sport24.az reports that the Aghdam team will face the last champion of England, "Liverpool", away.

The meeting, which will be held at the "Anfield" stadium, will start on January 29 at 00:00 Baku time.

Currently, "Qarabağ", with 10 points, is 18th in the tournament table, while "Liverpool" is in 4th place with 15 points. This game is of particular importance for both teams and neither will try to lose at least. "Liverpool" must win to directly secure a ticket to the 1/8 finals. For "Qarabağ", even 1 point will be enough to advance to the play-offs. But theoretically, the Aghdam club will still have a chance to play in that stage even if they lose. This will also depend on the results of several other matches.

It should be noted that the teams that take the first 8 places get a direct ticket to the 1/8 finals, and those who take the 9-24th places get the right to play in the "play-off" (conditionally 1/16 finals). Those who take 25-36th place finish the fight in European Cups for this season.
