Despite all the restoration and maintenance work carried out at the Tovuz city stadium, where the "Turan Tovuz" football team plays its home games, it was not possible to prepare the arena's grass cover for holding games due to the rainy and unstable weather conditions observed in the region.
Idman.Biz reports that, based on the club's appeal, the situation at the stadium was analyzed by the Professional Football League and appropriate decisions were made. Considering the appeal of the "Turan Tovuz" club and the agreement of the "Qarabag" club, it was decided to hold "Turan Tovuz"'s home games at "Azersun Arena".
At the same time, in order to avoid overloading the "Azersun Arena" due to the continuous game and training schedule, and to prevent the problem that appears to be real on the field, it was decided to organize the "Turan Tovuz" - "Sumgayit" game, which will be held on January 25, 2026, as part of the 17th round of the Misli Premier League, at the Sumgayit city stadium named after Mehdi Huseynzade.
It is noted that after this match, the "Turan Tovuz" club will start holding its home games planned within the Azerbaijan Cup and the Misli Premier League at "Azersun Arena".
The club's return to Tovuz city stadium is planned for the 25th round game of the Misli Premier League, which will be held on March 20-22, 2026. However, before the mentioned match, a test game will be organized at the stadium with the participation of the working group of the Professional Football League. Based on the results of the observations to be made during the test game, a final decision will be made regarding the stadium and further steps will be determined.
No changes are planned regarding the starting times of the announced games.
