"Qabala" sports director: AFFA fines are excessively heavy

"The fines imposed by the AFFA Disciplinary Committee on "Qabala" are unequivocally heavy."

This was stated by Sabuhi Safiyarlı, the sports director of the Gabala representative.

He commented on the four-match suspension of the team's football player Asif Mammadov after the match with "Qarabag" in the XXXI round of the Misli Premier League:

"We have not yet made a decision regarding the appeal, we will investigate the matter. However, the fines are unequivocally excessively heavy. In the disciplinary code, the penalty for a slight insult and a heavy curse is the same. Asif has been in football for years and no one has ever heard of him insulting anyone with a heavy curse. There are biased decisions during the management of the referees. Inqilab Mammadov had previously taken 2 points from us in the match with "Imishli". The AFFA Referees Committee also confirmed the mistake. It is interesting that he was appointed again to such an important game and made such a decision. Asif met with the referee after the game and apologized. If there was a heavy curse there, the atmosphere would be more tense. A fine of 10,000 manats is a very big and difficult decision for our club," he said in a statement to report.az.

The club official also touched upon the fine imposed for fans entering the field:

"Only one fan entered the field, and the rest are ball-carrying children. Such cases happen in world football as well. However, the penalty for one person running away and the mass rushing to the field should not be the same. Our penalty system needs to be reviewed again. It seems that the more penalties they give, the better they think. As soon as they get the chance, they immediately use the harshest penalties. It is natural that emotions are high, but I don't think it is right for the penalty to be so severe."

It should be noted that in the 86th minute of the match, Asif Mammadov, a football player of the home team, was directly removed from the field with a red card for insulting the referee and was suspended for 4 games. The club was fined 10,000 manats.

After the match, the entry of unauthorized persons into the field and the throwing of objects cost the club an additional 4,500 manats.
