The investigations into the death of Dioqu Jota and his brother Andre Silva, which shook the football world last July, have been completed.
İdman.Biz reports that the Spanish court has ruled that there is no criminal responsibility in the incident that resulted in the death of former Liverpool football team star Dioqu Jota and his brother.
Both football players died in an accident that occurred on July 3, 2025 in the Spanish province of Zamora. The investigation revealed that the incident was caused by a tire explosion during an overtaking maneuver of a "Lamborghini" car moving at high speed. The out-of-control car crashed into an obstacle and caught fire.

According to information given to "The Athletic" newspaper by the High Court of Castile and Leon, expert opinions confirmed that the accident was a misfortune:

"The court terminated the criminal case after evaluating the expert reports of the Civil Guard's traffic division. This decision does not prevent the injured parties from filing a claim in civil proceedings."
Let us remind you that 28-year-old Jota was returning to England by car at the time of the accident because he was banned from flying after a minor surgery. That season, he won the English Premier League with Liverpool and the Nations League with the Portuguese national team. His 25-year-old brother, Andre Silva, was a midfielder for the Portuguese football team Penafiel.

Jota is survived by his wife, Rut Cardoso, whom he married just two weeks before the accident, and three children.
