Former Manchester United player Gary Neville criticised Liverpool after their game against Bournemouth in the 23rd round of the Premier League.
Idman.Biz reports that the game ended 3:2 in favour of Bournemouth.
"They looked weak, and I have to say that when I watched them for the first time, I thought they had softened a bit. They have been a bit more subdued in some areas, and that is not their style. I thought they were very aggressive last year, but they have lost their attacking edge and in my opinion, they have softened in defence, which has made them easier to play against, so that is a real problem for them. If Liverpool don't start to build their games, they will lose the credibility they gained by winning the league last year.
What I don't believe is that I have heard several interviews from Liverpool officials, including the manager, over the past week, saying that this season should be a transition season. No, forget it, I'm not going to listen to that. No, it shouldn't have been a transition season. You spent £450 million on all these players in the summer, and it should have been a season where you would win two consecutive titles," Neville said.
After 23 rounds of the Premier League, Liverpool are sixth in the standings with 36 points.
On January 28, as part of the eighth round of the UEFA Champions League main stage, Liverpool will host Qarabag.
