Former Manchester United player Gary Neville has criticized Liverpool after their game against Bournemouth in the 23rd round of the Premier League.
Idman.Biz reports that the game ended 3-2 in favor of Bournemouth.
"They looked weak and I have to say, I thought they had softened up a bit when I first watched them. They have been a little more lenient in some areas and that is not their style. I thought they were very aggressive last year, but they have lost their attacking advantage and in my opinion, they have softened in defense, which makes them easier to play against, so that is a real problem for them. If Liverpool don't start building their games, they will lose the credibility they gained by winning the league last year.
What I don't believe is that in the last week I have heard several interviews from Liverpool officials, including the manager, and they said that this season should be a transitional season. No, forget that, I won't listen to that. No, it shouldn't have been a transitional season. You spent £450 million on all these players in the summer and it should have been a season where you win two titles in a row," Neville said.
After 23 rounds of the Premier League, Liverpool are sixth in the table with 36 points.
On January 28, Liverpool will host Qarabag as part of the eighth round of the main stage of the UEFA Champions League.
