If Maurizio Sarri decides to leave the team in the near future, the helm of "Lazio" could be entrusted to former German national team striker Miroslav Klose. Klose once wore the jersey of the capital's representative. Sport24.az reports that this was reported by the publication "La Gazzetta dello Sport".
According to the source, the 67-year-old Italian specialist has openly stated his dissatisfaction with the 2025/2026 season. Sarri signed a two-year contract with Lazio last summer. On the eve of the last round of the Italian championship, the "eagles" are in ninth place in the standings with 51 points.
47-year-old Klose is among the candidates for the head coach position. He currently coaches "Nuremberg", which plays in the second Bundesliga. His contract with his current club expires in June 2028.
It should be noted that some time ago the press reported that Sarri could replace Atalanta coach Raffaele Palladino.
