Real Madrid striker Kylian Mbappe has surpassed Thierry Henry in the list of top scorers in the history of the French national football team.
According to Lent.az, citing foreign media, France hosted Iceland on September 9 in the second stage of the qualifying round for the 2026 World Cup to be held in the USA, Canada, and Mexico. Mbappe scored from a penalty at the end of the first half.
This goal was the 52nd for the 26-year-old Frenchman in 92 games for the French national team. Mbappe has clearly risen to second place in the list of the national team's all-time top scorers, surpassing Henry (51 goals in 123 games).
The record for goals scored in the French national team belongs to Lille striker Olivier Giroud, who has 57 goals in 137 games.
