"Marseille" protested the fan ban for the game against "Paris"

"Marseille" club has released a statement regarding the ban on fans attending the away game against "Paris" in the 20th round of Ligue 1 on January 31st.

Idman.Biz reports that the ban is a measure taken by the local police.

The "Olympique Marseille" football club has taken note of the order from the Paris Police Prefecture prohibiting the movement and access to the stadium of any person claiming to belong to the supporters' club during the match against "Paris FC," which is scheduled to be held next Saturday in the capital.

The club deeply regrets this decision, which once again deprives its supporters of the opportunity to accompany their team to official away games. "Olympique" reaffirms its unwavering commitment to ensuring that fans can watch the club in an organized and safe environment, both in France and abroad.

In this regard, "Olympique Marseille" would like to emphasize that in the first leg match played at the "Stade Orange Velodrome" last August, "Paris FC" fans were allowed to travel to and attend the game, and no incidents or disturbances were reported. Therefore, the club questions the lack of reciprocity regarding the match to be held this Saturday.

Football cannot exist without fans, and their presence in the stadium is an integral part of the spirit of the sport. The repeated restrictions on their travel are worrying because they can undermine the values that football should embody - passion, vitality, fairness, and a sense of unity around the game.

Confident that rational and proportionate solutions can be found, the "Olympique Marseille" football club has filed an appeal demanding that this decision be reconsidered and that its fans be allowed to travel.
The club intends to use all available legal means to defend this fundamental principle and to continue to represent the interests of its fans.

"Olympique" calls on all stakeholders to act responsibly and, as always, is ready to cooperate closely with the relevant authorities to ensure the safety of everyone," the statement from the Provence club reads.
