The Azerbaijan national football team will play a test match against Malta as part of the Austrian training camp.
Idman.Biz reports that Malta national team head coach Emilio De Leo has announced a preliminary squad of 34 players for the friendly matches against Slovakia and Azerbaijan, which will be held in early June. According to the Malta Football Association, the team will first face Slovakia on June 1, and then Azerbaijan on June 5.
The Azerbaijan-Malta match will be held at the "Haladás Sportkomplexum" stadium in Szombathely, Hungary. The match will start at 22:00 Baku time.
According to the Malta Football Association, these games are important for head coach Emilio De Leo in terms of evaluating the squad before the UEFA Nations League. The preliminary squad includes several new names. Among them, "Rainbows" striker Luke Borg, Nicholas Akis from "Zabbar St. Patrick" and Kevin Cannavo, who plays for the Italian club "Cosenza", are especially noted.
Some players who did not participate in previous training camps have also returned to the squad.
