"The UEFA A license allows me to work in the Premier League. But my main goal is to further develop myself and adapt to the requirements of modern football."
These words were said by Maksim Medvedev, the head coach of the reserve team of "Qarabagh" football club, who successfully completed the UEFA A coaching course.
He stated that he intends to work in higher-level teams in the future.
"I am constantly working on myself to become a better coach. I also regularly contact foreign clubs and learn about their working principles. To get a PRO category, I plan to get experience in one of the big clubs," he told AZERTAC.
The veteran football player also touched upon the difficulties of coaching in Azerbaijan:
"It is not easy to work in the Premier League. Stability is not always maintained in teams, and coaches are changed in a short time. I am not in favor of working and leaving any team for a short time. My goal is to build the team gradually and fight for high results. This requires at least 3-4 years. We are constantly in contact with coaches, exchange ideas and benefit from their experience. We understand that serious and systematic work must be done to bring any team to a high level."
The former defender of the Azerbaijani national team also gave an example of the activities of local specialists:
"This can be seen in the work of coaches such as Rashad Sadigov and Aykhan Abbasov. After a certain time, the team's playing style is formed and the results show themselves."
M. Medvedev also touched upon the potential of young football players playing in the reserve team of "Qarabagh":
"We have promising players in our team. However, it is one of the main conditions for them to show a more professional approach. Our goal is to develop these players and create conditions for them to play both in the country and in European clubs in the future. Continuous and correct guidance is very important for the development of young players. Most of the potential members of the national teams are in our squad. We must work with them regularly and show them the right way so that they can successfully continue their careers."
