Lukas Podolski, former member of the German national team, currently playing for the Polish club "Górnik", has ended his football career. Sport24.az reports that this was announced on the club's social media account.
The club's statement said that Podolski will now become the owner of the club:
"A paragraph is closed. A new era begins. World champion Lukas Podolski will end his successful career this weekend. He will become the owner of his childhood club, Górnik. Thank you for everything, Poldi!"
During his playing career, Podolski played for clubs such as Cologne, Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Inter Milan, Galatasaray, Vissel Kobe, Antalyaspor and Górnik.
Podolski became world champion with the German national team in 2014.
