Lucas Zidane, the son of legendary footballer Zinedine Zidane and goalkeeper of the Algerian national team, has achieved a unique feat for the national team.
According to Lent.az, citing foreign media, on January 6, the 27-year-old goalkeeper of "Granada" helped the Algerians defeat the Democratic Republic of Congo (1-0) in the 1/8 finals of the Africa Cup of Nations.
He played in the group stage against Sudan (3-0) and Burkina Faso (1-0). In the third round, Antoni Mandrea was Algeria's goalkeeper in the match against Equatorial Guinea (3-1).
According to reports, Zidane is the first goalkeeper in history to keep a clean sheet in all three games he debuted for Algeria at the Africa Cup of Nations.
The goalkeeper will be able to renew his record in the quarter-final match against Nigeria.
