Championship side "Leicester" has had six points deducted. This was reported by "The Telegraph", Sport24.az reports.
According to the source, the "foxes" were penalized for violating Premier League financial rules for the 2023/24 season.
"Leicester" is accused of failing to submit its annual financial reports by December 31 and failing to meet the standard of "providing full, comprehensive and timely assistance to the Premier League."
"Leicester"'s financial crisis has resulted in the club incurring a total loss of more than £200 million in the three-year period ending June 30, 2024. That's £119 million more than the maximum £81 million allowed under Profitability and Sustainability Rules.
It should be noted that after the penalty, the "foxes" dropped to 20th place in the standings. "Leicester" won the Premier League in the 2015/16 season.
