Turkish Air Force General Mete Kuş has been relieved of his command after fighter planes flew over the stadium during a football match. Sport24.az reports that the incident occurred on April 21 in Konya, during the Turkish Cup quarter-final match (1-0 away) between "Konyaspor" and "Fenerbahçe."
According to "Turkish Minute," F-16 fighter jets and helicopters flew over the arena, creating a loud noise that was clearly audible even on live broadcasts. It is reported that General Kuş is a "Konyaspor" fan, and the flight was seen as a gesture of support for the club.
Following the incident, the Turkish Air Force Command removed Mete Kuş from his post and returned him to headquarters in Ankara. Authorities have launched an investigation into the causes of the incident.
