High ticket prices set by the management of the Kazakh club "Kayrat" for Champions League games have caused discontent among fans.
Idman.Biz reports that local fans consider the club's recent pricing policy unfair. In their opinion, a high amount can only be justified for games against major rivals like "Real Madrid", but the application of these prices in a match against a team like "Pafos" (Cyprus club) is illogical.
Thus, the ticket price for Kayrat's upcoming European Cup match is set at a minimum of 30 thousand tenge (approximately 94 manats) and a maximum of 250 thousand tenge (approximately 791 manats).
It is noted that many fans are ordinary people and cannot afford to pay so much money for a two-hour match.
"Yes, football is a business, but it must remain a holiday for the people first of all," local fans said.
Fans recall that in ordinary championship games, including matches with "Astana" and "Shakhtar", tickets were sold for only 2 thousand tenge.
A group of fans has already announced a boycott of the match in protest against the high cost of tickets. Fans hope that the club's management will hear the public discontent regarding this step and should not forget for whom football is played.
