A footballer playing for the youth team of "Yermiyahu Holon", which competes in the third division of the Israeli football championship, received a record-breaking 99-year disqualification for attacking and beating his opponent after the game.
Idman.Biz, citing "One" publication, reports that the 17-year-old player attacked and started beating a footballer from the other team near the locker rooms.
After the incident was recorded by surveillance cameras, the federation made a strict disciplinary decision. The club was also fined 700 euros and given a conditional penalty of three points deducted for one year.
The management of "Yermiyahu Holon" supported the disqualification decision and announced that the footballer had been removed from the team. However, the club claims that the incident allegedly started with a provocation by the injured player.
The disqualification penalty will only end in 2124.
