The UEFA Development Tournament is a good chance for players.
According to "Report", the head coach of the Azerbaijani national team (born in 2009) under 17, Agil Nabiyev, said to the AFFA press service regarding the first game (0:1) against the local team at the UEFA Development Tournament held in Chisinau, the capital of Moldova:
He stated that they want to perform well in the mentioned tournament:
"This is our second training camp with the team this year. Our first preparation took place last month. This time we have invited 10 new players. The UEFA Development Tournament is a good chance for the players. The result is not so important here. The main thing is that all the players should get a chance to play. The goal is to achieve their development. Of course, we have problems with the physical condition and technical skills of the players. The main area where we lagged behind the opponent in yesterday's match against the Moldova team was the final passes and decisive shots. I hope that we will gradually eliminate this. We will have to play 3 games here in 6 days. We dedicate the two days between matches to the recovery of the players and preparing for the next match. Qualifying matches will be in October. We have time until then. During this time, we will form the team and try to perform successfully in the qualifying round".
It should be noted that our U-17 national team will play its next matches within the tournament on April 16 against Georgia and on April 19 against Estonia.
