PSG head coach Luis Enrique answered a question about the playing practice of the team's and the French national team's goalkeeper, Lucas Chevalier, before the 2026 World Cup. In the current season, the French goalkeeper lost to Russian Matvey Safonov in the fight for a place in the starting lineup and remained on the substitutes' bench.
Idman.Biz, citing L'Équipe, reports that the specialist made it clear that he was not interested in Chevalier's preparation process for the World Cup.
Enrique answered the question of whether he takes into account the situation of the players in the club who will go to the World Cup:
"I am the PSG coach, nothing else worries me. I am not interested in this. I have to manage the situation in the club. Everything else is completely clear."
It should be noted that Chevalier participated in 26 matches in all tournaments this season, keeping a clean sheet in ten of them. At the World Cup, which will be held in the USA, Canada and Mexico in June-July 2026, the French national team will face Senegal, Iraq and Norway.
