Manchester City star striker Erling Haaland has commented on the incident with Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes in the tense Premier League match. Sport24.az reports that the Norwegian forward did not hide his dissatisfaction with the referee's decisions during the episode. He emphasized that he tried to stay on his feet despite the opponent's roughness:
"If I fell to the ground, I would only do it if there was serious contact, maybe there could have been a red card, but I'm not entirely sure. I'm not someone who falls easily, simulates".
The experienced striker also protested against the yellow card shown to him at the end of the episode:
"He came right at my face! It is incomprehensible that I was punished in such a situation."
