"Report" informs that the head coach of "Qarabag" Gurban Gurbanov said this in his statement to the club's press service while evaluating the opponents they will face in the League stage of the UEFA Champions League.
"First of all, I would like to thank our fans again. I thank each of them for the fans they made in the stadium during the return match of the play-off with "Ferencvaros", the support they showed, and the atmosphere they created. Our fans deserved to see the League stage of the Champions League. I am very happy for them that they will watch a minimum of 4 Champions League matches live in Baku this season. They will have the opportunity to watch four away matches at least on television".
Gurban Gurbanov also expressed his opinion about the opponents in the League stage:
"All the teams we will face are very serious opponents. They are clubs with deep roots and history in their countries. "Liverpool", "Chelsea", "Ajax", "Napoli", as well as others "Benfica", "Eintracht", "Copenhagen" and "Athletic" are strong teams that everyone knows well.
We will try to prepare well for these matches. Because this tournament is a completely different level. The excitement in the Champions League is several times greater. Here, both strength, speed, and the course of the game are completely different. We understand that there is a great responsibility. We will try to fight well and make our fans happy".
It should be noted that our team will face "Liverpool" (England), "Benfica" (Portugal), "Napoli" (Italy) and "Athletic" (Spain) away, and "Chelsea" (England), "Eintracht" (Germany), "Ajax" (Netherlands) and "Copenhagen" (Denmark) at home in the League stage.
