"Karvan-Yevlakh" lost 1:2 to "Gabala" in the 32nd round of the Misli Premier League at their home stadium. Sport24.az reports that the head coach of the home team, Fuzuli Mammadov, answered journalists' questions at the press conference held after the match:
- It has been confirmed that the team will leave the Premier League. Therefore, it was very difficult to motivate the players. I understand them. But they tried to be ready for the game. We knew it would be a tough match. We wanted to win at home. We had the opportunity for that. We took the lead in the score. "Gabala" scored against us due to small mistakes. I congratulate the opponent. At the Premier League level, you need to pay attention to every detail. I am very disappointed. But what can be done? Life goes on. The players suffered in the hot weather. I thank each of them.
- The first half was dull. What instructions did you give to the players during the break?
- We couldn't play effectively in attack in the first half. "Gabala's" defenders easily stopped our attacks. We made changes in the second half. After that, we became more effective in attack. We scored in one of these attacks. Unfortunately, we immediately conceded two goals.
- Will you stay in the position of head coach of "Karvan-Yevlakh"?
- Since the championship is ongoing, we have not had a discussion with the management about this. We will talk after the season ends. I have a contract with the club until the end of May. I will do my job conscientiously until the end. After that, we will probably have a meeting with the management. If the goal is to return to the Premier League, I can stay here. If not, I have to evaluate other offers.
- Do you have an offer?
- It would not be right to talk about it now. I currently have a contract with the club. It would be unethical to talk about offers. All my attention is on the team. If our negotiations with the club are successful, I will continue my work.
- Aren't you late to make plans for next season?
- I don't think so. We still have one game left. We have to play until the end. The players have a contract until the end of May. Everyone must fulfill their obligations conscientiously. After the season ends, everything will depend on the wishes of the management.
- Are there players in the team who want to play in the First League?
- If we make attractive offers to the players, they will play. They will want to stay where there is ambition.
- After the goal, the player hugged you. Are the players happy to work with you?
- The players understand what I want from them. My relationship with them has always been good. Coldness can arise when a player is not in the main squad. We try our best to warm up this relationship. I am an ambitious person, I am hungry for success. I have never lost so much. I cannot accept it. I understand the quality difference. But still, I prepare the players for victory.
