Midfielder Frenkie de Jong has reached an agreement with Barcelona to extend his contract. Sport24.az reports that this was reported by the Mundo Deportivo publication.
The parties will sign a new contract this week, most likely on Wednesday.
According to the source, the new contract will be valid until 2029, and the release clause will increase from 400 million euros to 500 million euros.
It should be noted that Frenkie was transferred from Ajax in 2019 for 85 million euros. The midfielder has played 267 matches for the Catalan club, scored 19 goals and provided 24 assists.
